Candy Wrappers and Derwent Inktense Blocks

It's simple, really; I needed purple candy wrappers, so I colored white ones with the purple Inktense block. Eventually, I'll use them for a project. Stay tuned for next week's video where you'll see what I do with those purple candy wrappers.

Thanks!

Watercolors and Sea Salt, Part 2

This is part 2 of Watercolors and Sea Salt. Once again, I created four watercolor doodles with four different brands (for the list of brands and their respective Amazon links, open the Description box below the video on my YT channel).

The goal that I achieved was the different effects that adding sea salt created in the doodles. If you like to experiment with coloring media and sea salt (or even just regular salt), give this a whirl. Each picture, no matter what brand of watercolor paints or watercolor markers you use, creates a different look once the sea salt has been sprinkled on the wet surface. Allow the pictures to dry and then just scrape off the salt. I think you'll be quite pleased with the effects.

Thank you!

Watercolors and Sea Salt, Part 1

I seem to have an obsession with sea salt because I love using it to see what effects I can get when I sprinkle it on watercolors, and it doesn't matter if those watercolors came from markers or paints. In this video, I use four different brands of watercolor paints, create four doodles with three different colors (green, blue, and purple), spritz the pics with water, and then grind sea salt over each doodle. I love doing this kind of art because each brand produces different results. Watch the video to see what I mean.

By the way, did you know that you can go directly to my YouTube channel by just clicking on the title in the upper left corner of the video? This little trick can be done on any website that presents a YouTube video. Sometimes, it's just easier to watch the videos from within YouTube rather than via the websites that I visit. Even better, if you want to stay on the website you're visiting, right-click on the video title and select "Open link in new tab."

This has been your tip of the day! Thanks for reading (and watching)!

Making Embellishments for My Junky Art Journal

In this video, I use a few pieces of the paper I punched in the Playing with Scraps and Punches video to make an embellishment or two for my Junky Art Journal. Early on in the video, I made one embellishment and set it aside to dry and then worked on the second one. While I was editing the video, I realized I totally forgot about that first embellishment. Lol! Strange things happen to me while I'm recording videos. My brain just forgets what I just did. Has that ever happened to you? I don't think I'm alone in that regard, especially in YouTube Land. I'm just going to chalk it up to Murphy's Law of Videography.

A Moment with Blue

Blue is just one of three cats that I have. He is a Lynx Siamese. Currently, he is about 3-1/2 years old. He has blue eyes, which explains his name. He weighs, roughly, 20 pounds! Yes, he's a big boy! Usually, he loves to talk, but in this short video, he didn't utter a word (or meow).

Playing with Scraps and Punches

I think I'm finally figuring out how to add text below the video here in my blog. I just have to remember to place the cursor next to the lower right corner (next to the video) and hit the space bar one time; then, I can hit Enter to go to the next line. Whew! Lol!

What I haven't figured out yet is how to have these videos automatically go to my blog after they are published on my YouTube channel. If there isn't already, there should be an option in the Studio to choose to have the video copied automatically to my blog. I really don't need to write something below the video unless it's necessary. For now, though, I'll have to remember to add the videos to my blog. This is just one video of about four that I need to post to my blog tonight.

Playing with Scraps and Punches is a video that I enjoyed making despite a tiny pinched-nerve problem in my right hand. In the video, you'll see that I'm wearing a brace (actually 2) on that hand. Using the various punches did kind of make my hand hurt, but it wasn't terribly painful.

If you have paper and punches, get 'em out and create a pile to use in a variety of projects: journals, collages, glue books, etc. There really is no limit to what you can do with punched out pieces of paper. I even created myriad odd shapes by punching on areas surrounding already punched through areas. I can use those in glue books.

Thanks for reading (and watching my video)!
