What’s the Trick to Write below Your Video?

I don't know if you know this, but there is a trick to writing below a video that is sent to our blogs. On a nearly weekly basis, I share my YT videos on my blog. Blogger throws the video into a post, and I can publish the post as is, with just a video there, or I can write something below the video. As a writing teacher, I feel obligated to write something, even if it’s just a blurb of sorts. When I did the first Share on Blogger, I couldn’t figure out how to add my writing piece below the video. Then, I just experimented with various techniques until I stumbled onto the trick.

My problem is I keep forgetting the trick. If you're a blogger and you have a YouTube channel and you share your videos on your blog, do you write little ditties below your videos? If you don't, is it because you don't know how to move to the next line – the line below the video? Here’s the trick to do it on a computer (I have no idea how to do it on the phone or tablet; perhaps it works in the same fashion):

Put the cursor just to the lower right of the video and press the space bar. Next, hit the Enter key to move down one line. Then, type your heart out or write just a bit to introduce your video.

     Easy-peasy!

Swatch with Me! Schpirerr Farben Watercolors

Wow! This video already has 30 views! I'm impressed, so I think I'll keep doing the Swatch with Me! series on my channel. By no means am I a watercolor artist, except in the abstract-painter sense. However, I do know what colors are, and I do know what colors I like to use and see on the canvas (even if that canvas is a piece of watercolor paper). Enjoy the show!

Clipboard Decorating (with Alcohol Inks)

Watch me decorate a clipboard with alcohol inks. It's exciting! Okay, maybe it's not terribly exciting, but I certainly had an enjoyable time blowing alcohol inks around on the clipboard. If you've ever used alcohol inks on any non-porous surface, you know that you shouldn't put too much ink down. At the time that I did this craftivity, I didn't know this little tidbit of info. Yeah, I put too much alcohol ink on the clipboard, but the awesome doodle that resulted amazed even me!

Thanks for reading this short blurb, and thanks for watching my video!

Tips & Tricks: Setting 5-Space Indentations in Various Documents

Okay, so this isn't really a craft or crafty hack, but it is useful, especially for my writing students. In this short (yes, I said short) video, I show how to set a 5-space indentation for the first line in paragraphs for people who use Google Docs, Apple Pages, and/or Open Office Text Documents.

Enjoy the short (that's for you, Dolly!) video!

Thanks for reading this and watching my videos!

Faux Leather Paper, Part 2 (Gluing Stuff!)

I think I'm getting better at remembering to share my most recent video here on my Blogger page. Kudos to the cognizant Crafty Cat Lady!

Faux Leather Paper, Part 2 (Gluing Stuff!) is the continuation of making ordinary scrapbook paper (a tad thicker than copy paper) look like leather-paper (is there such a thing?). I realize that I'm not really turning the paper into even fake leather; I'm just giving it the leathery look. Covering it with Mod Podge  strengthens the paper and prevents it from tearing.

In the video, I'm covering the inside of one of the papers with a variety of scrapbook pieces. It was a very relaxing craftivity for me. I highly recommend gluing stuff to paper, especially if you've been feeling a tad stressed lately.

For both this blog entry and my video, please, comment, like, share, & subscribe (I guess here it's "follow").

Thanks for reading, and thanks for watching!
